AMMAN – His Majesty King Abdullah will start a visit to the US early next week where he will meet with President Barack Obama to discuss efforts to achieve peace in the region as well as bilateral cooperation, a Royal Court statement announced Wednesday.
During his several-day visit, the King will take part in the international conference on nuclear security that will be held in Washington April 12 and 13, which will be inaugurated by Obama with the participation of 47 countries.
The Monarch will also hold several meetings with political and economic personalities and will take part in a session in Chicago on efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal this week, His Majesty has urged Washington to set benchmarks for the Middle East peace process, warning of a new war in the region if peace is not made on a just basis.
